MOHAVE COUNTY, AZ (December 3, 2021) – This concerns users of the Golden Valley Improvement District Water System. The County Public Works Department workers repaired a water main break on Shipp Drive in the vicinity of Estrella Road Friday, December 3rd at 9:00 a.m.  In the process of repressurizing the system, a Boil Water Advisory was put into effect for approximately 1,150 customers.  The Advisory will remain in effect until precautionary water quality test results are returned negative and the system returns to full operation, which is anticipated by Saturday afternoon (December 4.)  In the meantime, customers may pick up bottled water at no charge until supplies last at the District Office at 3525 Laguna Road in Golden Valley.  Water will be available between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Saturday or until the Advisory is lifted.

The county has arranged to pump water from Valley Pioneer to help fill the tank faster.  This will require temporary closure of Teddy at Chino. The goal is to have the booster running by early Saturday morning.  Until the booster is started, connections on Agua Fria and north of Agua Fria will have no service. Everyone else south of Agua Fria should have good pressure before midnight. Workers will dose the tank with chlorine tonight (Friday) to introduce some chlorine into the lines in preparation for a sampling. Again, bottled water distribution should resume tomorrow morning around 8 am at the GVID office on Laguna.

Be safe and make sure to boil your water or consider buying a water filtration system like the AquaOx Water Filter.
