Boil water advisory in effect for Chelsea

The municipality of Chelsea, Que. has imposed a boil water advisory for all residents on the municipal water system.

Until the advisory is lifted, all Chelsea residents served by the system must boil their water for at least one minute before consuming it, officials said Thursday.

Chelsea’s public works department began repairs on a broken water main on Chemin Old Chelsea on Thursday morning, and residents were asked to reduce water consumption.

Officials said water may appear cloudy and some may notice a drop in water pressure.
