Boil order continues for Pleasant Grove

PLEASANT GROVE, Utah — The boil order will extend into Monday for some residents of Pleasant Grove.

According to city officials, Sunday’s water test came back with mixed results. 

 “A large majority came back clean, but we did have some tests positive for coliform but were negative for E. Coli. However, a coliform positive test will keep the boil order in place,” the statement read. 

Recent tests have allowed city officials to find the source so they can concentrate their efforts on the problem. Further flushing and testing will take place Sunday evening. Test results will be in Monday evening.

City officials say the boil order will not be lifted until Monday evening at the earliest. It most likely will carry over into Tuesday.

City officials also remind residents that it’s critical  to follow necessary steps to be sure that the water is safe to drink. 

In order to have safe water to drink, the CDC suggests bringing water to a rolling boil for 1 minute.

In the mean time, Enevive, a business in Pleasant Grove has clean water available to anyone who needs it. The company is located at 527 W. State Street Suite 104. The business is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Pleasant Grove officials say their next update on the boil order will be Monday evening between 8 and 10 p.m.

The boil order was issued last Wednesday for homes and businesses in the Battle Creek Service area after one of three water samples from the Battle Creek zone tested positive for E. Coli bacteria.
