Review: PUR Bluetooth Water Filtration Faucet + Fail

Review: PUR Bluetooth Water Filtration Faucet + Fail

Review and failure of the PUR Water Filter with Bluetooth technology. Unite failed / died during firmware update / upgrade and no longer functioning with Bluetooth and the indicator lights on the union no longer function. Spoke with Customer Service and we tried reset (press spring inside the unit 7 times) and that did not resolve the issue and was advised to return the unit to place of purchase.

Pur Filter:

2019 Update: The replacement unit worked fine until it started to leak at the seam between the two pieces of plastic that goes from the filter housing to the faucet attachment piece. The warranty period expired 🙁 .

MSR Trailshot water filter review – ultralight backpacking filter

The MSR Trailshot microfilter is a great backpacking water filter enabling you to always have clean water when you are outdoors. It’s water treatment removes 99.99% of bacteria, protozoa and particulates. It’s filtration goes down to 0.2 microns and is perfect as a survival filter or for camping situations. In my opinion it’s easier to use than It’s competitor, the Sawyer Mini water filter but performs equally well on the trail.

Which do you prefer? The Sawyer filter or the MSR Trailshot?

Please note that it is not a water purifier and won’t remove pesticides or chemicals.

DIY Water Filter - Homemade "High-Volume" Water Filter - Easy DIY (makes tap water taste great!)

DIY Water Filter – Homemade "High-Volume" Water Filter – Easy DIY (makes tap water taste great!)

DIY Water Filter. Homemade “High-Volume” Water Filter. Easy DIY. Fast Filtering – makes a glassful in seconds (whole gallon in just over 3 minutes). low cost ~ only $7.00 for supplies ($6 for the carbon and $1 for the coffee filters). with proper maintenance it should last for years. removes virtually all sediment, any bad odors/smells/tastes and over 200 chemical contaminants (including herbicides, pesticides, pharmaceuticals etc.). i constructed it mainly to make my tap water taste good (it’s so full of chlorine and other junk, i can barely keep it down). use the filtered water for drinking, cooking, making ice etc. works perfect with any tap water (rain water too). can also be used with pond/river water (just boil it first, to remove any pathogens) then put it thru the filter. tips: construct using a one liter bottle and the whole carton of carbon for maximum filtering. double up the screen inside the bottle cap if necessary. use a new coffee filter between uses. when done using it, discard the coffee filter and remove diffuser to dry.
