Chlorite

Chlorite is a chlorine dioxide anion known as the strongest oxidizer of the chlorine oxyanions. The more common application for chlorite is as sodium chloride and in the bleaching of paper, textiles, and pulp. The chlorine oxoanion is also known as salts of chlorous acid.
