Brownian Motion

Also known as pedesis, Brownian Motion is the random movement of particles in either gas or liquid as they collide with other particles within the medium. In drinking water, this constant and unpredictable movement keeps colloids suspended in the water. Although water turbidity does not necessarily mean the drinking water is dangerous to human health, this normal function of nature means more attention and action is needed to avoid serious drinking water problems.
