Water boil advisory still in effect for some Tooele subdivisions

TOOELE, Utah — A water boil advisory remains in place in Tooele for the Loma Vista and Skyline Ridge subdivisions.

A boil order advisory remains in effect in Tooele for the area outlined above. (Image: Tooele City)

The boil advisory was issued on Friday because of a damaged water line. It affects the area east of Droubay Road, west of Canyon Overlook Drive, north of Skyline Drive, and those on 270 South.
 
Tooele City announced their advisory saying they believe they have the impact isolated and are taking precautions to ensure water quality.
 
In the meantime, they advise boiling any water before drinking and cooking until further notice.
 

Guidelines for boiling water

Tooele City says in their Water Boil Advisory that if you live in the affected area, do not drink the water without boiling it first.

Bring all water to a boil, let it boil for three minutes, and let it cool before using, or use bottled water.

Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, and food preparation until further notice. Boiling kills bacteria and other organisms in the water.

Alum is aluminium sulfate.
It acts as a coagulant.
A coagulant attracts and binds with extremely fine and small particles to form a large particle.
I won’t use it.
But why?
Because it will attract all small insects and make a large insect.
You are just unbelievable.
When a solution of alum is added to impure water, it attracts and binds with contaminants and fine suspended particles of mud, dirt, etc. to form large particles.
Being large, these particles can be removed by filtration, or when they settle down due to gravity, they can be removed through decantation, giving us pure water.
