Our world is more contaminated than ever, so now it’s more important than ever to ensure we’re drinking and bathing in clean, uncontaminated water.
On today’s #AskWardee, I’ll share the details on which whole house water filtration system we chose… and why! Plus, I’ll give you options if you can’t or aren’t able to use a whole house system. You might be surprised at the number of options and the affordability!

If you are here probably you are entering the organic food world, but first, let’s go through one more time about the concept of organics;
‘Organic food is the product of a farming system which avoids the use of man-made fertilizers, pesticides; growth regulators, and livestock feed additives. “
What we know about organics is that they are safer, possibly more nutritious, and often better tasting than non-organic food. They also say organic production is better for the environment and kinder to animals. But not everything is flowers, and unfortunately, the organic food price can be very salty if you know what I mean. What many people are doing to be able to make organic food part of their lives is planting their organic garden themselves.
Organic gardening means you won’t use synthetic fertilizers or pesticides, and that includes the chemicals and contaminants that can contaminate your garden thought common water irrigation. I bet you haven’t thought of that, right? You must be thinking about what to do now, well, we have an easy and cheap solution for you: install a hose water filter!
If your water comes from a public sanitation system, it is possible to have chlorine in it, this chemical is very effective at eliminating harmful pathogens. That’s why most of the water suppliers use it.
Of course, you can! A hose filter can be attached to any conventional garden hose thread. You can use that water for irrigating your garden and organics and any other outdoor needs for cleaner water, you may also drink it if you want! The filter works by removing herbicides, pesticides, VOCs, chloramines, and chlorine.

Lonnie shows here how he built (and how you can too) a water filtration system that is great for a small cabin or camp or even to have for emergencies in town. The total cost to build was MUCH cheaper that the professionally manufactured filtration systems but yet it is every bit as effective since it uses the same ceramic filters as they use. It is a very simple project and uses the tools that you may already have.
